Process
Project Milestones and What to Expect
I don’t believe in simply being a consultant for my clients. I want to see that no detail is overlooked, which is why I’m present for every step of the process.
1. Introductions and Planning
We begin with a phone interview and a few survey questions to find out more details about your project, and to ensure that I’m the right match for your design needs.
Once we’ve established our budget and timeline, I’ll meet with you in your space to measure and consider our product options.
From there we begin the design phase. Starting with the layout / floor plan and then to the selection process. This is where we select materials and finishes to pull it all together.
Once the selection process is completed and contracts are signed, I’ll take care of the major headaches including sourcing products, contractors, scheduling, floorplans, product specs, the project scope and permits.
We’ll then have a pre-construction meeting with your contractor. There will always be an open line of communication between you, me and your contractor at all times for any questions that you may have.
2. Pre-Construction and Construction
Our pre-construction meeting generally takes place the week leading up to the project start date where we go over: your temporary kitchen location, dumpster placement, lock box location for your house key, project timeline and major milestone dates, what time of day the contractor will begin each day, if there are any items being demoed that you would like to save or donate and any questions or concerns you might have leading up to the project start.
There will always be an open line of communication between you, me and your contractor at all times for any questions that you may have.
I will help with every step leading into the construction phase, as well as offer a few extra comforts to make the process easier. From helping to sort items to save or donate, to setting up a temporary substitute space with appliances to keep your days running smoothly.
We ensure that all construction areas are sealed off wherever possible, and we utilize drop cloths at every entrance. Our goal is to be as considerate as possible of your home during the construction process.
3. Finishing Touches
We will be in touch throughout the project to address any concerns that may pop up along the way.
The goal is for a vast majority of the decisions to be ironed out prior to contract signing, but there are always a few things that pop up throughout the process and I’ll be there to guide you through.
In the final week we will reconvene to go over the final punch list prior to completion and schedule a photo session for your beautiful new space.
